The Shiny Pacman Pendant has many layers of lacquer that have been carved and polished to a high sheen. The procces includes the special technique for placing small mother of pearl pieces with an effect of lighting and design on the surface of the pendant.

A metal base is formed in the desired shape, and then multiple layers of colored lacquer are applied. Because of the properties of the sap, the lacquer hardens rather then dries. Creating a piece of Japanese lacquer is a very labor intensive process, but all the time and hard work results in a wonderful and truly unique piece of contemporary  jewelry.
